Multiple Bolton Burglary Arrests Made
Forty-two people were arrested in Bolton last night as part of a police crackdown on burglaries.
Around 100 officers carried out 12 separate raids across the town following months of intensive investigations.
Police said the ongoing campaign has reduced burglaries by half over the summer.
Among the stolen property seized last night were quantities of illegal drugs.
Visits were also made to around 100 addresses of people who has failed to answer bail.
Court enforcement officers also took part in the day’s activities by visiting those wanted for outstanding court fines.
Police said they had also used yesterday's swoops to gather new intelligence on people committing burglary in Bolton.
Chief Inspector Andrea Jones, who is leading the operations, said: "We have tirelessly been targeting those committing burglary in Bolton throughout the day and night and this has seen some excellent results, particularly in the past few weeks with a number of our most prolific burglars charged for their crimes.
"We are asking people to carry on getting in touch with us, as your information, no matter how small, really does make a difference.
"So far this August, 73 fewer people have fallen victim to burglary compared to the same time last year, which is a huge decrease of more than 50 per cent," added Chief Inspector Jones.
