Katona Axed By Iceland

Troubled reality TV star Kerry Katona has been dropped as the face of supermarket chain Iceland.

The retailer said it was now "impossible" for Katona to fulfill her lucrative advertising contract.

Katona faced fresh allegations of substance abuse at the weekend, when a Sunday tabloid ran pictures of her apparently snorting the Class A drug cocaine.

The 28-year-old mother-of-four has not yet responded to the newspaper's claims.

Katona fronted Iceland's high-profile promotions for over four years, having secured the deal after winning ITV's I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

Iceland said it would help her get support if she required it. A spokesman for the firm said Katona had been a "successful part" of its long-running advertising campaigns.

"But she has also been through some tough times in her personal life," they added.

"We have always stood by her, as an example of a normal person and mum who has experienced some of the modern-day culture of fame, and how difficult it can be to deal with.

"However, following the most recent allegations, we feel it is impossible for Kerry to continue to work with us as one of the faces of Iceland advertising."

Other celebrities hired to promote the chain include Nolans singer Coleen.

Iceland represents a 1.7% share of the UK retail market according to figures from TNS Worldpanel.
