Appeal After Manchester Teen Stabbed
Police in Manchester have appealed for information after a teenager was stabbed in the stomach in an unprovoked attack.
Shortly after 9pm last night, the 18-year-old victim was cutting through Crowcroft Park, Stockport Road, with two friends on his way home from the shop.
Five men approached the friends, an argument broke out and the 18-year-old was stabbed by one of the men.
The attackers ran off towards the exit from the park at the junction of East Road and Northmoor Road.
The attackers are described as Asian men in their early to mid 20s.
The victim was taken to hospital and underwent emergency surgery for a stab wound to the stomach. He remains there in a serious but stable condition.
Detective Constable Tony Smith, based at Longsight CID, said: "This was a terrifying and unprovoked attack on a teenager, who was simply taking a short cut with his mates.
"It was still daylight and it is possible there were people around. I urge anyone who saw anything to come forward, no matter how insignificant it seems, to make sure the person responsible is caught."

Appeal Launched After Man Stabbed
Westminster-based police officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in west London. Police were called at approximately 12.15am on Friday 7 January to reports of a man having been stabbed in Selby Square. On arrival officers found an 18-year old man.

Man Stabbed To Death In Manchester
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed a man has been stabbed to death and another has been injured following an attack in the city. Both men, who are believed to be in their 20s, were found by emergency crews on Parry Road in Longsight, shortly after 00:40am this morning (Thursday).

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder In Kent
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Kent. At around 7.15pm on Tuesday (19 May), police were called to a property in Hectorage Road, Tonbridge. Two men, aged 34 and 54, had sustained injuries which police believed to be knife wounds. The 54-year-old victim died at the scene. The 34-year-old was taken to hospital.
