James Kamara, 22, from the Pitsmoor area of Sheffield, was shot dead in Brunswick Street, in the Broomhill area on Wednesday night.

Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers were called to the street following reports of gunshots just before 6.30pm.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A number of cordons are in place around Brunswick Street and police ask public to co-operate with officers at the location.

"Detectives have begun a murder investigation so anyone with information is asked to call 0114 220 20 20."

The three other men - who have not been identified, but said to be in their early 20s - were taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital for treatment to their injuries.

One of the injured is said to be in a serious but stable condition, while the other two suffered less severe injuries and were taken to the minor injuries unit at the Royal Hallamshir Hospital.
