British Man Fights Extradition To France
A British businessman arrested over the death of his girlfriend - whose battered body was found in a Paris hotel room - is fighting extradition to France.
Ian Griffin, 39, was detained on suspicion of the murder of Kinga Legg, after police discovered him on Monday morning in woodland near Macclesfield, Cheshire. It is understood he had been living rough in a tent in the woodland.
The arrest follows an international manhunt, launched by police for Ian Griffin, after 36-year-old Kinga Legg was found dead at a £1,000-a-night hotel in Paris last Tuesday.
Mr Griffin, from Warrington, refused to give consent to extradition during an appearance at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
District Judge Daphne Wickham adjourned the hearing until 10 June.
