Four Arrested Over Wakefield Drugs Haul
Four people have been arrested in Wakefield following a police drugs raid.
The three men and a woman were detained after drugs were recovered from an address on Robin Hood Cresent.
Police said a patrol in Lupset came across a young man who had been identified by members of the community as being involved in the supply of drugs.
The 20-year-old man was searched and found to be in possession of controlled drugs. Wakefield Central Neighbourhood Policing Team then raided the property the man had emerged from.
Once inside the address, the team located a large amounts of drugs suspected of being prepared for supplying.
A 22-year-old woman and two men, both 22, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with the intent to supply.
Following an interview by officers, all three men were charged with drugs offences and two were remanded to appear before Wakefield Magistrates.
Both are now due to appear before Leeds Crown Court at a later date.
The 20-year-old was arrested, charged and has since been dealt with through the courts.
The woman has since been released on bail pending further investigations.
Police Inspector Richard Close said: "Thanks to the information the community has given, our team has managed to disrupt a local dealer.
"I would like to thank to public for providing this information and I hope we can continue to work together in this way to ensure those who bring misery to our communties are brought to justice."
Inspector Close added: "My message is clear, if you are involved in the selling or supplying of drugs watch your back, the people in Lupset don't like it and we wont tolerate your illegal acts."
