Schoolboy, 13, Did Not Father Child
Alfie Patten, the schoolboy who made headlines earlier this year, after it was reported he fathered a child aged just 12, is not the father, DNA tests have shown.
In February, the youth from Eastbourne - now aged 13 - told a national newspaper he believed he had made his 15-year-old girlfriend pregnant.
However, a paternity test revealed that another teenager is the father of Chantelle Stedman's baby.
The results of the DNA test were made public following a judge's ruling high court ruling to lift the reporting ban.
According to the judgement, Alfie was "extremely distressed" about the results of the test.
Reporters were told that the restrictions had arisen "as a result of press intrusion" and also "because of allegations made by at least two others that they may be the putative fathers".
Mrs Justice King said the mother had been taunted in the street and called a "slut" by strangers since her pregnancy.
The teenager said: "I was crying a lot every day", and said she feared the insults would "go on forever".
The Press Complaints Commission is still investigating claims that The Sun and The People paid for interviews for Patten.
The watchdog's code of practice says that "minors must not be paid for material involving children's welfare, nor parents or guardians for material about their children or wards, unless it is clearly in the child's interests".
