CCTV Images Released In Pub Attack Appeal

Police in Surrey have released CCTV images of three men they wish to question after a man was punched to the ground in a violent attack.

According to officers, the 21-year-old victim - who also had glasses smashed over his head in the attack - suffered serious head injuries after the assault in the Priory in Bell Street, Reigate.

The victim was standing with a small group in the conservatory at the rear of the pub and was seen talking to three men in the designated smoking area.

The first suspect asked the victim for a cigarette; the victim declined and then asked the first suspect his name. All three of the suspects then attacked the victim, punching him to the ground and smashing several glasses over his head as he lay on the floor.

The victim was left with serious cuts and bruising to the left side of his face and mouth and a three-millimetre cut in his ear.

Det Con Sprague said: "This was a vicious and unprovoked attack which left the victim with serious injuries.

"It was a busy Friday night in Reigate and I know there were lots of people around.

"It is vital anyone who witnessed this assault, or who thinks they saw the suspects that night, comes forward."
