Mother Pays Tribute To Road Crash Son
The mother of a young man killed in a Manchester road collision has described her son as a "big softie, with a heart of gold".
Mark Cowley, aged 20, died as a result of serious head and chest injuries after being in a collision with a van in Stalybridge in the early hours of Wednesday.
Mr Cowely leaves behind a son, Kaiden Cowley, aged two and a half.
His mother Tracey Cowley said: "Mark was a big softie with a heart of gold. He was kind to everyone and nobody had a bad word to say about him. He was loved by everybody and was a much loved father and son."
A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

The Ministry of Defence has named the British marine who was killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday. Corporal Stephen Paul Curley, 26, from 40 Commando Royal Marines, died in an explosion while he was conducting a ground domination foot patrol through the southern Green Zone.

Shorter people are more at risk of coronary heart disease, according to a new study led by Professor Sir Nilesh Samani, British Heart Foundation Professor of Cardiology and Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences. The research discovered that every 2.5 inches of change in height affects the risk of coronary heart disease by 13.5%.

Euan Blair being treated in hospital
Prime Minister Tony Blair's eldest son Euan is being treated in hospital in Barbados, Downing Street has confirmed. The 22-year-old, who had been on a three-week holiday with the rest of the Blair family, was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, near Bridgetown, on Thursday suffering from a stomach complaint.

Mother And Son Shot In Salford
A 29-year-old woman and her seven-year-old son have been shot at their home in Salford. Police have reported the mother and son suffered leg injuries in the incident in Gillingham Road, Eccles, on Monday night. It is understood their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
