Michael Grade To Step Down As ITV Chief Executive

Michael Grade will step down as ITV's Chief Executive by the end of the year to become non-executive chairman.

Mr Grade has confirmed that he will step down from his post following the conclusion of regulatory reviews into the broadcaster's contract rights renewals (CRR).

ITV said that a new boss would be appointed "as soon as practicable".

Mr Grade left his role as BBC chairman to move to ITV in November 2006. He had previously worked at London Weekend Television and had been Chief Executive of Channel 4.

ITV has been hit hard by a slump in advertising revenue, reporting pre-tax losses of £2.7 billion in March.
