Five Held After G20 Anti-Terror Raid
Five people have been arrested under the Terrorism Act after weapons and suspected extremist material was recovered during a house search.
Three men aged 25, 19 and 16 and two women, both aged 20, from Plymouth or nearby, were detained between 27 and 29 March.
The five political activists unaffiliated to any terrorist organisation were arrested in addresses in Plymouth.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed they were held after officers found weapons, imitation weapons, suspicious devices and "material relating to political ideology" during the house search.
Police have also stressed there was no religious agenda to the investigation, adding those involved were political activists.
According to the force spokesman, the operation has no connection to failed suicide bomber Nicky Reilly, 22, who was this year jailed for 18 years.
Assistant Chief Constable Sharon Taylor said: "I would reassure local people and residents of Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly that they are not at any risk, and these arrests would appear to be isolated at this time.
"Those arrested people will remain in custody while further inquiries take place."
