Soap Star Pleads Guilty To Assault

An Emmerdale actor has pleaded guilty to assaulting a 16-year-old boy in an attack in Greater Manchester.

Luke Tittensor, 19, who plays Daz Eden in the ITV1 soap, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on his victim in Rochdale on 1 February 2008.

Bolton Crown Court heard the victim was "badly injured" and needed surgery after the attack.

Prosecuting, Mark Ford said: "He suffered a displaced fracture on the lower jaw which necessitated corrective surgery. He was in hospital for three days and had a metal plate and screws inserted into the bone in order to repair the damage inflicted."

Mr Ford said the teenage victim, who cannot be named, had displayed "an extremely mature attitude" towards the proceedings.

"He is a young man, only 16 at the time of this attack," Mr Ford told the court.

"His overriding concern, however, was that the defendant should accept responsibility for what he did to him."

Tittensor, of Ryecroft Avenue, Heywood, near Rochdale, had been due to face trial, but after pleading guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm he will be sentenced on April 29.
