Five Arrested Over Tony Bromley Stabbing
Detectives investigating the death of an 18-year-old who was stabbed have named the victim as Tony Bromley.
Five men, all from the Everton area of Liverpool, have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of Mr Bromley, from Anfield.
A post mortem examination found the 18-year-old died from multiple stab wounds. His body was discovered outside a house on Sprucewood Close, Everton, just after 1.30am on Saturday 14 February.
Police said he suffered a "deliberate and brutal attack".
Chief Superintendent Stephen Watson, Area Commander for Liverpool North said, "Merseyside Police has now launched a murder investigation following the death of Tony Bromley.
"We believe Tony had been out drinking with friends in the area earlier in evening and would appeal to anyone who was with Tony, or who saw him and his friends to contact us, as they could have information which could be vital to the investigation
"At this moment in time we do not know the motive for the attack, but we do believe the victim was targeted and we are following up a number of lines of inquiry to establish the motive."
The men, all aged in their 20s, are being questioned by police.

Nikita Murray, 21, of Langsdale Street in Everton, was sentenced to two years, eight months in prison for giving a false alibi for Scott Walker, who was found guilty of killing Tony Bromley last year.

Children Held Over Fatal Stabbing
The death of a 14-year-old boy who was stabbed in Essex has led to a full-scale murder inquiry. Youngster, Jack Large of Yeoman Way, Grange Hill in Chigwell, was stabbed in the back and head on the Limes Farm housing estate on Friday evening.

£1.9bn funding package for public transport unveiled
Public transport, anti-congestion measures and bus services are set to benefit from a £1.9 billion funding package announced by Local Transport Minister Tony McNulty today. Of this year's allocation, up over £200 million on last year, top performing and improving councils will be awarded a total of £68 million additional reward funding.
