Lorry Driver Jailed For M6 Death Crash
A Portuguese lorry driver has been found guilty of causing the deaths of a family of six in a crash on the M6.
Paulo Jorge Nogueira da Silva was sentenced to three years in jail after killing the Statham family, of Llandudno, when the 40-tonne lorry he was driving hit their car as they travelled home from Birmingham.
David and Michelle Statham, and their four children, were heading home to North Wales when his lorry struck their people carrier on the M6 at Sandbach, Cheshire, on October 20, last year.
The couple, originally from Sutton Coldfield, had returned to the Midlands to introduce their 10-week old baby to family and friends.
The Statham's and their four sons Reece, 13, Jay, nine and Mason, 20 months, and 10-week-old baby daughter Ellousie died instantly when their car was pushed under a Volvo car.
Da Silva, 46, of Murcia, in Spain, was convicted at Chester Crown Court of six counts of causing death by careless driving.

Lorry Spills £1,500 Cash Across Road In Swindon
A road was forced to closed in Swindon on Thursday after a lorry carrying money scattered approximately £1,500 in cash across a carriageway. The incident occurred after 1:30pm in Mead Way. Police were called to the scene and closed the northbound road from Mead roundabout. The money was cleared from the road. It is understood no one was injured.

Police Find Woman And Children In Refrigerated Lorry
Police in Bristol have discovered a woman and two children in the back of a refrigerated lorry. Avon and Somerset Police said the driver of the lorry reported hearing voices from inside the lorry. Police believe the woman and children were in the back of the lorry for two days before being discovered.
