Woman Dies After Car Hit Bungalow
A woman has died four days after the car she was travelling in hit a bungalow in Lancashire. Emma Gorman, 21, from Blackburn, was a passenger in a silver Peugeot 206 when it crashed into the building on Richmond Terrace, Darwen, on Friday. She was left in a critical condition and taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital, where she died on Tuesday. The 19-year-old male driver suffered a broken arm and two other male passengers suffered chest injuries.
Man Guilty Of Teenager's Murder
A man has been found guilty of the murder of a 17-year-old semi-professional footballer who was shot in the back near his north London home. Etem Celebi was with a group of friends on the Smalley Close estate, Stoke Newington, on 14 November 2007 when two gunmen started firing at them. Richard Harrison-Allen, 20, of Hackney, east London, was unanimously convicted by a jury at St Albans Crown Court. Harrison-Allen, known as "Scarface", will be sentenced at a future date.
Plans Unveiled For Legacy Of Olympic Park
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, Communities Secretary Hazel Blears and Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell have unveiled plans for the legacy of the Olympic Park after the 2012 Games. The vision, developed in conjunction with the five host boroughs, is of a vibrant, thriving district of new communities surrounded by parklands and reclaimed waterways with sporting, educational and cultural facilities. The plans, set out proposals to build 10,000 new homes of the highest quality in addition to those in the Olympic Village. Provision of an educational offer matching the best in London includes three new primary schools, a secondary school and a sports academy in the Olympic Stadium.
Man Arrested Over Teen Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenager who was shot in a betting shop in Manchester. Louis Brathwaite, 16, was gunned down in William Hill bookmakers on Mauldeth Road West in Withington on 29 January last year. He died 12 days later. His mother made an appeal to catch his killer on the first anniversary of his death on Tuesday. An 18-year-old man was arrested in the Longsight area on Wednesday morning and is due to be questioned later.
Sea Viper Shows Its Fangs
The new Sea Viper air defence missile system demonstrated its ability to protect air, land and sea forces during a second, successful test firing. The missile system was successfully test-fired from the 12,000 tonne trials barge Longbow, near the Ile du Levant off the French coast. The Longbow barge has a full replica of the air defence equipment the new Type 45 destroyers will carry, including long-range and missile directing radars, a combat control centre and missiles in their vertical launcher silos. Sea Viper is a highly sophisticated system that has been designed to allow the new Type 45 Destroyer to protect forces, both at sea and over land, against attack by enemy aircraft, as well as defending the fleet against anti-ship missiles approaching from any direction and at supersonic speeds.

Sky News Cameraman Killed In Egypt
A Sky news cameraman has been shot and killed while covering the ongoing violence in Cairo, Egypt. The broadcaster confirmed the death of 61-year-old Mick Deane on Wednesday. Mr Dean had worked for Sky for 15 years. In a statement, Head of Sky News, John Ryley, paid tribute to an "experienced journalist" and a "much-loved colleague".
