Police Appeal For O2 Arena Stabbing Information
Detectives investigating a stabbing at the O2 Arena last year have today released three CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.
The move comes as officers make renewed appeals for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
The images, taken from CCTV cameras outside the venue, show the man running from the venue in the minutes after the stabbing.
DCI Mark Stockford of Greenwich police, leading the investigation, said: "This was a shocking attack during a high profile event attended by many people.
"We have spoken to a large number of witnesses, but I am convinced there are still people out there with information who haven't yet come forward.
"I appeal to them to get in touch with us.
"In particular, I want to hear from anyone who recognises the man pictured, seen running from the scene. He has not yet been identified and may have information vital to the investigation."
Police were called at approximately 10.10pm on Saturday 15 November last year to reports of a stabbing inside the O2 Arena in Greenwich.
Officers and the ambulance service attended and discovered a 27 year-old suffering stab wounds to the neck. He received hospital treatment and was later discharged.
A 22-year-old man was also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries and discharged a short while later.
A 21-year-old man was also arrested at the scene and taken to a south London police station. He remains in bail pending further enquiries, next due to return on 17 February 2009.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact Greenwich CID on 0208 284 9591 or 0208 284 9445; if they wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
