German Charged With Student Murder
Police have charged a German man with the murder of Nottingham student Matthew Pyke.
Mr Pyke, 20, was found stabbed to death in his flat in North Sherwood Street on September 19th.
David Marcel-Heiss, 21, from Limburg, Hesse, was arrested on September 24th in Germany. He will appear before Nottingham Magistrates later.
Mr Pyke who was originally from Suffolk had been due to start a degree course at Nottingham Trent University.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Heydon, who is leading the investigation, said: "Nottinghamshire police officers brought David Heiss back to the United Kingdom on Tuesday evening.
"We have worked closely with the German authorities to secure his extradition and they have assisted and cooperated with this procedure.
"Throughout the course of the investigation we have kept Matthew's family fully informed with all of the latest developments and they have been made aware that Heiss has been charged with Matthew's murder."

A 23-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a 7-year-old girl in Nottingham. The child's body was found at a house in Beckhampton Road in Bestwood Park on Thursday. A post-mortem gave a preliminary ruling of a head injury as the cause of death. The child has not yet been formally identified.

Police Search Tunnels For Nottingham Murder Victim
Police investigating the murder of a 21-year-old man in Nottingham in January 2014 are to search tunnels beneath a former cigarette factory which were destroyed in a fire. Police are continuing to search for the remains of Bogdan Mawrocki, who went missing from his home in Radford at the start of 2014.

A murder investigation has been launched after a 17-year-old boy was shot dead in the middle of a shopping parade in Nottingham. Police attending reports of a firearms incident at the Bridgeway shopping centre in the Meadows area of the city, just after midday on Tuesday, found Nathan Williams lying on the ground near a bookmakers.

Three sentenced to life over 'revenge killing'
Three men have been sentenced to life imprisonment for conspiring to murder a married couple in Lincolnshire. John Stirland, 55 and his wife Joan, 51, were shot dead at their home in Trusthope in August 2004. The killings had been triggered by a murder carried out by Mrs Stirland's son in Nottingham in 2003.
