Two Charged Over Child's Death

A man and woman are due to appear in court today charged with the death of a four-year-old child.

The 36-year-old man and 22-year-old woman from the Tyseley area of Birmingham, are due to appear at the city's magistrates' court charged with killing a four-year-old child through gross neglect, in April.

West Midlands police also said the couple also face three charges of wilful neglect.

The charges follow an incident in February, which involved three children all aged under four.

A police spokesperson said there were no details of the children’s gender, or of any post mortem examinations.

Officers also said the accused were charged on Monday morning after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.
