Police Officer Bailed Over Model Death
A policewoman arrested in connection with the murder of Amy Leigh Barnes has been released on bail.
Miss Barnes, a former pupil of Lords Independent School in Bolton, was found stabbed at her home in Farnworth, Bolton on Saturday morning.
The 49-year-old woman, who serves with the West Midlands force, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been bailed until Tuesday 6 January 2009 pending further inquiries.
Ricardo Morrison, formerly of Birmingham, appeared before Bolton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 12 November charged with murder. He was remanded in custody.
Amy, 19, died in hospital on Saturday 8 November 2008. At 11.40am police were called to a house in Moss Street, Farnworth, following reports a woman had been stabbed.
A post mortem examination concluded that Amy died as a result of stab wounds.
Miss Barnes also modelled for Cosmopolitan and Nuts Magazine, and also appeared in Channel 4 teen drama, Hollyoaks.

Walkers Find Body Of A Baby
The body of a baby, thought to be a newborn, has been found by walkers in the Ox Hey Lane area of Lostock, Bolton, Greater Manchester on Thursday afternoon. It is understood that it is not yet known how long the baby had been there or how it died. A post-mortem examination is expected to take place on Monday.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder after a disturbance in Manchester city centre has been bailed pending further inquiries. Zhen Asghar, 18, of Mallowdale Crescent, Bolton, suffered stab wounds at a flat near the Printworks on Monday 21 September 2009. He died as a result of his injuries on Wednesday 23 September.
