Tragic M6 Family Funeral

The funeral of a family killed in a motorway crash will take place next Tuesday, it has been announced.

Six members of the Statham family died after a collision on the M6 last week.

The family were travelling home to Llandudno from Birmingham when a five-vehicle pile-up took their lives.

A service for David and Michelle Statham and their children Reece, 13, Jay, nine, Mason, 20 months, and Ellouise, 10 weeks, will take place at the Llandudno church where they worshipped.

Prayers will be said at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, where both Reece and Jay were alter boys.

Thirty-eight year old Mr Statham and his 33-year-old wife had been together for 19 years.

Mr Statham was a chef at St David's College in Llandudno. The family had moved from Birmingham to north Wales four years ago.

A Portuguese lorry driver has been charged with six counts of causing death by dangerous driving after the collision, which involved three lorries and two cars.

He will appear in court in November.
