Two-Year-Old Twin Dies After Pond Fall
A two-year-old boy, who fell into a pond with his twin brother, has died in hospital.
George Bostock and his brother Harry were found in a neighbour’s garden pond in the Tean area on Monday evening, according to Staffordshire Police.
Both boys were given first aid at the scene.
Harry was released from the University Hospital of North Staffordshire on Wednesday, but George, who was put on a life support machine, died last night.
A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: "Our thoughts are with the family at this time.
"We have liaison officers with the family now and we are working closely with the hospital."
On Wednesday, Berdine and James Bostock, the parents of the twin boys expressed their "sincere thanks and gratitude" to those who helped rescue their sons.
In a statement released by the hospital, they said: "We raised the alarm within the local community and would like to express our sincerest thanks and gratitude to everyone who helped in our search, especially Craig Lazenby, who found our two-and-a-half-year-old twins Harry and George."
Mr Lazenby, a 37-year-old father-of-two is believed to have pulled the children from the pond, while a female neighbour administered first aid.
Police said they are treating the matter as a tragic accident.

Boy drowns at Wigan beauty spot
A ten-year-old boy has lost his life following an incident at a pond in Wigan. It is reported that the boy was trying to help a girl who had got into difficulties while swimming at the local beauty spot. Police were called to the John Pit Pond in Standish Lower Ground at around 3:50pm on Thursday.

Police in West Midlands have arrested two men in connection with the death of a 16-year-old boy found dead in a pond. Shane Awoo's body was recovered by divers from a pool in the Bickley Road area in Bilston, on Sunday. The two men arrested, aged 20 and 22, are being held for questioning by West Midlands police.
