Judge Rules Barrister Shooting As Lawful
A High Court judge has ruled the shooting of barrister Mark Saunders by police as lawful.
Mr Justice Underhill was told last month that the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) inquiry was flawed because officers involved in the siege were allowed to confer before recording their accounts.
The family of Mr Saunders, launched a judicial review, claiming that the practice of conferring meant that police evidence was "tainted" and could lead to deliberate collusion.
Mr Saunders, 32, died of multiple bullet wounds after a five-hour shootout with police at his Chelsea flat.
The victim's family believes he had posed no risk to the public when he was killed.
