Murder Inquiry After Man Dies During 'Vicious Attack'
Detectives are appealing for information following the death of a man who died as a result of a "vicious attack" in Warwickshire.
A murder inquiry has been launched after the man died in the George Eliot Hospital at around 1.15am this morning.
The assault took place on Royal Oak Lane near to the junction of Vicarage Lane in the Ash Green area of Bedworth at some time between 11pm and 11.30pm on Sunday night, police revealed.
An unknown male is reported to have carried out the violent assault on the victim who was lying on the floor. A second male is reported to have been standing watching a short distance away.
The man who carried out the attack and the other man were spotted walking away from the scene together.
A Warwickshire police spokesman said: "The man committed the assault is described of being of black or Asian appearance, aged between 27 - 35 years old, approximately 50ft 10ins tall and medium build. He had short cropped hair and was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and blue jeans."
He added: "The man who was watching is described as being white male, aged in his late 20's, of stocky build, 5ft 10 inches tall with short hair and was wearing a football style shirt and blue jeans."
Police are appealing for anyone who was in Royal Oak Lane at the time of the attack to contact them.
Supintendent Nav Malik, who is leading the murder inquiry, said: "This man had sustained a very severe beating. It was an extremely vicious attack which has resulted in his death."

Man Arrested In Connection With Cambridgeshire Cannabis Farm
A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a cannabis farm in Cambridgeshire. Police uncovered around 75 cannabis plants at a property on Bencroft Lane, Warboys, on Monday, 26 October. The man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and is currently in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.

Merseyside Police are appealing for witnesses following the rape of a 16-year-old girl on Saturday. The girl was walking home between 9:30pm and 10pm when she was approached by a man who forced her to waste ground behind St Dunstan Church on Earle Road in Wavertree. The attacker is described as white, aged around 18 or 19 and of slim build.

Man Arrested Over Sexual Assault In Somerset
Police investigating a sexual assault in Somerset, during which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint, have arrested a 59-year-old man. Police arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and sexual assault, in connection with the incident in Sydenham, Bridgewater on 21 January.
