Former Royal Butler Admits Child Abuse Offences

A former royal butler to the Queen has today pleaded guilty to a number of child sex offences.

Paul Kidd, 55, of Stalybridge, Greater Manchester appeared in court today accused of a number of charges including the possession of child porn, indecent assault and sexual activity with a child.

The charges relate to historic sexual abuse on three children who were all under the age of 16 when the abuse began.

Kidd, of Castlehall View, also pleaded guilty to possessing more than 18,000 indecent images of children.

He is accused of nine counts of rape, four of gross indecency, two of indecent assault and three of sexual assault.

Another man, David Hobday, 56, of St Johns Street, Dukinfield, Greater Manchester appeared in court today charged with sexual activity with a child and possessing an indecent video of a child. He pleaded guilty to the offences.

The two men were remanded in custody until they will appear at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on 20 November for sentencing.

Kidd worked as a butler from 1977 to 1979. He was also senior footman to the Queen Mother from 1979 to 1984

IWF To Share 'Hash List' Of Indecent Images
The UK's anti-abuse organisation, Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), will share it's 'hash list' of indecent images, in an effort to help websites stop them being uploaded. The IWF monitors and catalogues images of abuse it finds online, giving each one a unique code, known as a "hash" or its digital finger-print.

Nursery Worker Charged With Sexual Assault
A 39-year-old nursery worker has been charged with seven offences, including sexual assault and distribution of indecent images of children. Vanessa George was arrested on Monday after police raided her home in Efford, Plymouth and the city's Little Teds nursery, following a tip-off.
