Southampton Garage Dead Named

A man thought to have killed his two daughters, before killing himself, has been named locally as David Cass, 33.

Police discovered the bodies of the man and his two daughters, aged one and three, at Paynes Road Car Sales, a commercial garage, in Freemantle, Southampton at around 6.50pm on Sunday evening.

The girls have been named locally as Ellie, aged three, and 12-month-old Isobel.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Reports have suggested the man murdered his children before hanging himself following the break-up of his relationship.

A post mortem examination is due to be carried out later today, and formal identification of the bodies will take place tomorrow at the earliest, the spokeswoman said.
