Father Admits Murdering His Children
A father struggling to come to terms with his marriage break-up has admitted murdering his two children in their family home.
Robert Thompson, 50, brutally stabbed his children Michelle, 25, and Ryan, seven, a total of 26 times on 3 May this year.
Their mother, June Thompson, found their blood-soaked bodied at the house, a High Court in Edinburgh heard.
Thomson is not believed to be suffering from any mental illness.
The trial continues.

A woman has been charged with the murder of 10-month-old Chloe Sutherland, it has been reported. A 35-year-old woman, said to be the little girl's mother, made no plea or declaration during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today. She has been remanded in custody.

A mother has been arrested on suspicion of murder after her two children were discovered dead at their home in south-west London. Her husband Jeff found their 10-week-old boy and 14-month-old sister, Lily Sky Boots, unconscious when he arrived home on Wednesday night.
