Mansion Body Identified As Christopher Foster
The body of a man found at the site of a burnt-out mansion in Shropshire has been identified as Christopher Foster.
The body of Mr Foster's wife Jill Foster, 49, was found in Osbaston House in Maesbrook on Friday, following a fire at the property in the early hours of August 26.
A third body, which was found late on Sunday, was removed from the main part of the house on Monday evening. Tests are still being conducted, but it is believed that the body is that of the couple's 15-year-old daughter Kirstie.
An earlier post mortem examination has already revealed that Mrs Foster died from a gunshot wound to the head. Police said that a cause of death for Mr Foster has still to be established.
A gun found near to Mrs Foster's body and that of the man, has been identified as a .22 rifle which was legitimately owned by Mr Foster.
Three horses and four dogs were also found dead in the grounds of the mansion. All of them had been shot.
The Foster family had not been seen since they attended a friend's barbecue on the evening of August 25. The fire at their home broke out around 4am the following morning. Police are treating the fire as arson.
Police have said that they believe Mr Foster killed his wife and daughter before setting fire to their home and killing himself.
