Catherine Zeta Jone's Grandmother Dies
Hollywood star Catherine Zeta Jones' grandmother has died at the age of 91.
The actress's grandmother - whom Catherine Zeta was named after - was said to be very close to her famous relative, who, earlier this year, flew in from Bermuda to bring her grandmother flowers for her birthday.
Catherine, who is married to Hollywood veteran Michael Douglas, has two children and is expected to return to her native Wales for the funeral.
Mrs Jones, a widow, is believed to have died at her daughter's home.
It is thought she had been unwell for several days before her death.
Mrs Jones lived in a terraced home in Ravenhill area of Swansea for the past 60 years and is understood to have taken her exotic name from a Swansea merchant ship called The Zeta, which carried copper from South America to Wales.
Mike Thomas, 60, a neighbour said Mrs Jones was "a real duchess" who was "very proud of Catherine".
Alan Pope, the local Sub-Postmaster, said: "She was a lovely lady. Until recently she would come in regularly, but then her daughter used to come in for her and Zeta would wave to me from the car outside."
Mrs Jones was the mother of Catherine's businessman father Dai.
Catherine's other grandmother, Kath Fair, died in 2001, aged 71.
The star is currently staring in 'Death Defying Acts' about the life of Harry Houdini.
Her husband, the son of Kirk Douglas, has completed a succession of films due out next year including 'The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past'.
