Police Recover Brazil Murder Body Parts
More body parts of a British teenager murdered in Brazil have been recovered, according to Brazilian police.
Police have found the forearms and left leg of Cara Burke, 17, along the banks of a remote river near the central city of Goiania.
Inspector Carlos Raimundo Batista said police were "confident" the body parts were the murdered teenagers.
It is reported that a labourer found the leg near the town of Bonfinopolis, about 30km from Goiania in the central state of Goias, on Sunday.
Goias State Police say that Mohammed D'Ali Carvalho dos Santos has confessed to the murder.
Police Inspector, Jorge Moreira da Silva alleged that Mr Santos killed the teenager, from Southfields, south-west London, because she threatened to tell his family that he was addicted to cocaine and was also dealing the drug.
Lenita Aves, a spokesman for Goiania's Policia Civil, which is investigating the murder, has alleged that Mr Santos admitted stabbing her to death with a kitchen knife - reported to have a 25cm blade - at the home they shared before going off to a party and then cutting her body into pieces and putting parts of it into a suitcase next day.
The UK Foreign Office confirmed that Cara's headless torso was found on 29 July on the side of a motorway in Goiania, in the central state of Goias.
A BBC correspondent in Brazil said that Mr Santos was arrested last Wednesday in a place used to buy drugs.
Police believe that Mr Santos was living in London during 2006 and 2007, and returned to Brazil this year.
Cara's mother has been told she must pay up to £6,500 to have her daughter's body flown back to Britain.
Brazilian officials have refused to pay for the repatriation while British officials are also reportedly refusing to contribute.
