Police Search For Missing Mother And Son
Police have issued an urgent appeal to trace a mother and son who have not been seen since Tuesday.
Salma Kadri, 29, of Libyan background, and her son Hassan Nasser, 10, were last seen in Ealing between 9pm and 10pm after leaving their home in Paddington on Tuesday afternoon.
They were seen near the Tesco Metro close to Ealing Common underground station at around 9pm. A member of the public also alerted police to a possible sighting of Salma and Hassan at garages in Highview Road, West Ealing at approximately 10pm.
Neither mother, who suffers from partial epilepsy, nor her son has been in contact with their relatives who are "extremely concerned" for their welfare.
Officers are continuing to carry out searches, house-to-house inquiries and have deployed the air support unit and dogs' section to try and locate them.
Salma is described as slim, five foot six in tall, with dyed blond hair and olive skin. She was last seen wearing a light-coloured headscarf covering her hair. Hassan has dark hair and a scar on his upper lip. He was last seen wearing a brown T-shirt with white writing and blue jeans.
It was thought that Salma could have been on her way to visit friends in Ealing, but she has not showed up.
Superintendent Peter Newman, from Westminster police said: "We are extremely anxious to trace Salma and Hassan who have been missing for over 36 hours.
"The family is keen for Salma to call home and let them know they are safe. Her other son, who is eight years old, is missing his mother and brother and is looking forward to being re-united with them."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Missing Persons Unit on 0207 321 9373.
