Arrest Follows Road Crash Deaths

A motorist has been arrested in connection with the death of three people in a road traffic collision in Leeds.

A Ford Fiesta and Citroen C4 were travelling in the opposite direction when they were involved in the head-on collision on Ridge Road near Garforth just before midnight on Wednesday.

The Fiesta was heading from the Peckfield area towards Garforth while the C4 was travelling from Junction 47 towards Peckfield.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The collision resulted in the death of the driver and two passengers, all of them males, in the Ford Fiesta.

"A 27 year-old man who was driving the Citroen C4 was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving."

The man remains in police custody and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Investigation Launched After Death Of Woman Following Bus Fall
A woman has died in hospital after falling on a route E3 bus on Chiswick High Road, just after 13:30 on Tuesday, 18 August. The 77-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 17:00.

Up To Four Suffer 'Life-Changing' Injuries In Troop Carrier Collision
More than 20 people have been injured, 4 or 5 seriously, in a collision involving three troop carriers on Salisbury Plain. Wiltshire Police were called to the accident at about 18:30 on Wednesday. The cause of the accident is being investigated but it is understood that 4 or 5 people have suffered "life-changing injuries".

Footballer In Court Over Collision Deaths
A Plymouth Argyle footballer has appeared in court today on charges of causing death by dangerous driving. Luke McCormick, 24, the team's goalkeeper, appeared before Fenton Magistrates Court, accused of causing the deaths of two young boys.
