Suspect Found Dead In Prison
The man accused of killing a Polish woman - whose body was found in a suitcase - has been found dead in prison.
Ziaul Haque, 27, of Drummond Street, Camden Town, was found hanged in his cell by staff at Winchester jail on Monday just after 9am.
Attempts were made to resuscitate Haque, who was on remand awaiting trial.
Haque appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court in May accused of murdering the victim, Sylwia Sobczak.
The charred remains of Ms Sobczak, 26, of Tottenham, were found in a suitcase by a passer-by half a mile from the centre of Dummer - a wealthy Hampshire village - on May 8.
The village is home to the families of the Duchess of York and socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
Police were initially unable to identify the body and made a nationwide appeal.
It is understood that Haque had lived in the UK for five years.
A Ministry of Justice spokesman has confirmed that the Prisons and Probations Ombudsman will conduct an investigation.
