Three Further Deaths In Stab Epidemic
Three young men have died within hours of being stabbed in knife attacks in close proximity to each other in London.
A 19-year-old, who has not been named, suffered multiple stab wounds in Edmonton, north London.
Later on Thursday, two men aged in their 20s were murdered in attacks in Leyton and Walthamstow, east London.
Police say a man and a woman are being held over the stabbing in Edmonton while four people have been arrested in connection with the attack in Leyton.
Concern is rising over the recent spate of violence against young people that has so far this year claimed 19 lives.
Adrian Jones from the charity Your Story, which ran anti-gang workshops in London has described the current situation as "disgraceful".
Mr Jones told Sky News that 14-year-old David Idowu - the youngest victim to recently lose his life in 2008 - attended the classes.
However, Mr Jones said that the seven-week workshop "couldn't continue".
"How much does the Government value people's lives?
"The Government needs to start putting money into grass roots projects because we have demonstrated that we can deliver," he said.
David, was stabbed in the stomach and chest during an attack in Southwark, south east London, three weeks ago. He died from his injuries in hospital on Monday.
Hamouda Bessaad, 34, died after being stabbed on 30 June on the Old Kent Road.
CCTV footage has been released of his final movements.
