BA Bosses Clear Sheridan Theft Allegations
BA bosses have cleared the wife of former Scottish Socialist MSP Tommy Sheridan of theft allegations.
Gail Sheridan, 44, was suspended from her job as British Airways cabin crew in February after accusations that she had taken alcohol miniatures.
A disciplinary hearing on Wednesday found that the mother-of-one was innocent.
Mrs Sheridan said she was "delighted" at the outcome.
"I am obviously relieved to be reinstated to the job I have loved for 23 years," she said.
However, she said she was "angry" at being wrongly accused following many years of service with an "unblemished" record.
She said the accusation was "malicious but without foundation from the start" and that whoever "threw this muck" should "hang their heads in shame".
Aamer Anwar, the Sheridan's solicitor said that Gail "firmly believed" she was a victim of "harassment and intolerable behaviour" from Lothian And Borders Police and sections of the press.
A spokesman for British Airways said: "We can confirm that a disciplinary process involving a member of the Glasgow-based cabin crew has been concluded and that there will be no further action."
Mrs Sheridan was a member of the cabin crew union BASSA which is part of UNITE.
BA suspended Mrs Sherdian after being contacted by Lothian and Borders Police, who searched the Sheridan's home in December in connection with a separate investigation.
The couple and five others have been charged with perjury over Mr Sheridan's previously successful damages action against the News of the World in 2006.
Mr Sheridan was awarded £200,000 in damages over the paper's claims that he was a "serial adulterer and swinger who used drugs".
After Mrs Sheridan was suspended from her job, her husband accused police of carrying out a "vendetta" against the couple.
Mr Sheridan let the Scottish Socialists to set up Solidarity which has "a new movement for socialism in Scotland" as its slogan.
