Woman Charged With Supermarket Murder
A woman has been charged in connection with the murder of a man in a supermarket.
Fifty-seven-year-old Kevin Tripp was pushed to the ground while queuing up inside Sainsbury's in Merton, south west London on Tuesday. He was taken to St. George's Hospital in Tooting where he died on Wednesday night.
Tony Virasami, 37, from Catford, has already appeared in court charged with killing Mr Tripp and has been remanded in custody until September 18.
His partner, Antoinette Richardson, 37, also of Catford, is the second person to be accused of killing the 57-year-old and will appear before court today.
Mr Tripp, a father-of-one had been out shopping when an argument broke out. It is alleged that he was punched and he fell heavily.
Witnesses say that Mr Tripp was a bystander in a row over who had arrived at the queue first.
Mitcham and Morden MP Siobhain McDonagh said that Kevin was "a quiet, self-effacing man", and the "the last thing in the world" he would do would become in anything violent.
Neighbour Breda McDonagh, 70, said that Mr Tripp was "a very nice chap, a sociable man, co-operative, who would do anything he could for you".
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to call 020 8721 4005.
