Babysitter Denies Murder Ahead Of Retrial

A babysitter accused of killing a two-year-old will face a retrial in a bid to clear her name.

Suzanne Holdworth, 37, of Millpool Close, has denied that she banged Kyle Fisher's head against a banister in a fit of temper.

At a hearing at Leeds Crown Court, Ms Holdworth, a mother of two, pleaded not guilty to killing Kyle.

The court heard that Ms Holdworth will go on trial at Teeside Crown Court but a date has not yet been fixed.

She has been given conditional bail.

Ms Holdsworth had been babysitting Kyle while his 19-year-old single mother, Clare Fisher, was at a local nightclub in July 2004.

Lawyers representing Ms Holdworth claim that fresh evidence will clear her of the murder and that she suffered a miscarriage of justice.

Ms Holdworth's family have always maintained her innocence.
