Two Men Detained After Farm Seige
Two men - aged 50 and 51 - are being held in custody in connection with a siege at a farm near Glasgow.
Armed officers and negotiators surrounded Law Muir Farm at Hardgate near Clydebank at around 10pm on Thursday with the siege ending at around 4am today, Friday.
It has been reported that one of the men is John Bowden, who escaped from Noranside Open Prison in Angus last month after being permitted to go on a shopping trip.
It is believed that both men had contacted a journalist in England to say they were not armed during the siege.
Bowden, who is understood to be from south London, has been convicted of a serious crime.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesman had said at the time that the public should not approach Bowden.
Both defendants were expected to appear before court on Monday, the fifty-year-old at Glasgow Sheriff Court and the fifty-one-year old at Forfar Sheriff Court.
