DJ Died Of 'Misadventure', Inquest Finds
An inquest has heard that former DJ Kevin Greening died from a drugs overdose after participating in a gay bondage session.
Coroner Paul Knapman said Mr Greening died of "misadventure" after being found dead by police on December 29, 2006, at a flat in Wandsworth, south London.
His 45th birthday was the following day.
Mr Knapman said he died "having indulged in unorthodox sexual behaviour involving restraint equipment and illegal drugs".
It is reported that Mr Greening was found still wearing a rubber suit and had cling film and "gaffer tape" around him.
The inquest heard that tests on Mr Greening's blood after his death had "traces of cocaine and ecstasy".
Mr Greening's boyfriend Sean Griffin was initially arrested on suspicion of murder but was later released without charge after the cause of death was established.
Mr Greening co-hosted BBC Radio 1's breakfast show from 1997 to 1998 with fellow DJ Zoe Ball.
After leaving Radio 1, he worked for BBC Radio 5 Live and the BBC World Service. At the time of his death he was a presenter on London's Smooth Radio.
Mr Greening began his radio career working voluntarily for the Bristol Hospital Broadcasting Service.

High Speed 2 (HS2) is a scheme to deliver hugely enhanced rail capacity and connectivity between Britain’s major conurbations. Phase one of HS2, between London and Birmingham, should be running by 2026, later extending to northern England.
