Remand Prisoner Dies In Hospital
A man charged with rape of a teenage girl has died in prison.
It is understood that Matthew Le Cras, 21, of Newborough on Anglesey, was found in his prison cell by a staff member. He was taken to hospital on Thursday where he died.
Mr Le Cras was being held on remand at Liverpool's Altcourse jail after being charged with raping an 18-year-old woman in Gaerwen on April 14.
The accused was due to appear at Mold Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Friday.
He had been held at Altcourse prison for one week.
A spokesman for GSL, a support service for companies and authorities, confirmed that Mr Le Cras had died.

Prison officers suspended over corruption claims

Prisons face overcrowding crisis
Prisons in England and Wales are under "enormous pressure" and are facing a "looming overcrowding crisis", according to a charity report. The Prison Reform Trust reported that prison numbers have crept up again since Christmas rising to over 77,000 again.

Man Charged With Murder After Traffic Collision
A man has been charged with murder following a fatal traffic collision at a village in Hertfordshire. The victim, a man in his 50s, died after colliding with a white van at 11.30am in Groom Road on 26 June. Michael Turner, 56, from Landua Way in Turnford, has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court on 29 June.

Six Arrested Over Nottingham Street Brawl Death
Police investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Nottingham have arrested six people. Joshua Bradley, of Bulwell, died following a suspected street fight in Thurland Street, on 08 February. Two men, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
