Police Quiz Amy Winehouse Over Alleged Assault

Soul singer Amy Winehouse is due to be questioned by police over an alleged assault.

A spokesman for Ms Winehouse, 24, said she would voluntarily attend a central London police station on Friday.

He said she would be questioned "in connection with an alleged incident" which occurred in Camden in the early hours of April 23.

It is reported that the singer is accused of head-butting a man who had tried to help her hail a taxi. It is further alleged that she punched a second man in the face.

Her husband Blake Fielder-Civil is in jail, awaiting trial on charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Winehouse, born in Enfield to a Jewish family, has won five Grammy Awards for her album 'Back to Black'. She has also won a Brit Award and twice won the coveted Ivor Novello Award.
