Crimewatch To Renew Hunt For Matalan Killers

Officers are appealing for information in connection with last month's murder of a Matalan assistant manager - helped by TV's Crimewatch programme.

Jamie Simpson, 33, was fatally stabbed on 22 March at Kingsland Shopping Centre, Hackney, east London, while he was cashing up just after the store had closed.

Detectives - who have released CCTV images taken moments before the murder - are looking for three suspects.

Tonight's Crimewatch will feature a reconstruction of the events of the evening in question and include appeals by Jamie's family.

The detective presiding over the case, Jacqueline Sebire, from the Metropolitan Police's Serious Crime Command said: "We now know that four males aged between approx 16-25 of age were involved in the attack. Four of these men entered the Kingsland Shopping Centre but only three entered the Matalan premises.

"Further CCTV images of those three suspects are being released in the hope that there are people out there who know these men and we hope our Crimewatch appeal encourages people to stand up and work with the police to help rid their community of Jamie's murderers."

Anyone with information should call the incident room on 020 8345 1585.
