Man Arrested For Encouraging Internet Fight
A 21-year-old man from Crawley is being questioned by police following footage of two young boys fighting was posted on social networking site YouTube.
A Sussex Police spokesman said the suspect was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting an assault.
The violent footage, which has now been removed, showed the boys being encouraged to "kick the sh*t out of each other".
Detective Sergeant Richard Harris said: "This appears to be a case of child cruelty and criminal behaviour by an adult involved in the making of this appalling video."
The disturbing footage marks the second time that Crawley has been in the headlines. In 2006, footage of girls being spun at high speeds on a park roundabout was posted on the site. More than a million people viewed it before it was removed.
In separate incidents, six teenagers aged 14 and 15 have been arrested for allegedly using Bebo to orchestrate fights between rival gangs across Derby.
A police spokeman said: "We have taken what we think is early preventative action before it gets serious.
"Some people think the internet is private but it’s a public place and if they are posting messages which could lead to disorder then that’s something we will take a keen interest in."
