Porridge Actor Wilde Dies

British comic actor Brian Wilde has died at the age of 80.

Wilde is best know for playing incompetent prison officer Mr Barrowclough in 'Porridge' and Foggy in the much loved sitcom 'Last of the Summer Wine'.

The actor's son, Andrew Wilde, said his father died in his sleep of natural causes on Wednesday night in a nursing home.

Wilde had suffered a fall nearly two months ago and had not recovered.

The actors agent said: "He will be sadly missed by family and colleagues alike.

"He will brought a great deal of laughter into everyone's lives over the course of his career."

Wile also had roles in TV series 'Room at the Bottom' and the film 'The Jokers'. He has appeared in 'Carry On Doctor.'

Actor Bob Hoskins Dies Aged 71
Actor Bob Hoskins has died of pneumonia, aged 71. He was best known for roles in Who Framed Roger Rabbit and In The Long Good Friday. He died in hospital on Tuesday with his family by his side. He retired from acting in 2012 after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Colin Firth - King Of The Golden Globes
British actor Colin Firth was the 'King' of the Golden Globes last night after he won the Best Actor in a Drama award for his role in The King's Speech. The 50-year-old actor won the award for his role as King George VI in the film, but although The King's Speech was nominated in seven categories, it failed to win any other awards.

Lily Allen Suffers Miscarriage
Pop singer Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage, it has been confirmed. The 22-year-old announced that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend, Ed Simons, 37, from dance duo the Chemical Brothers in December. At the time, her spokesperson said that the pregnancy was in a very early stage and asked for the singer's privacy to be respected.

Best memorial service held in Manchester
A memorial to football legend George Best has been held at Manchester Cathedral. Family and friends of the Manchester United and Northern Ireland player were joined by a whole host of footballing stars and celebrities to pay tribute to the star who died in November.
