Pass-Holder Questioned Over Parliament Protest

A Parliamentary pass-holder has been questioned in connection with this week's rooftop protest at Parliament.

The 26-year-old man, who is believed to have worked for members of the Commons and the House of Lords, was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting a criminal offence of trespass on Thursday evening. After the arrest at his home in Westminster, he was later released on bail until the end of April.

Five activists had climbed on to the roof of Parliament on Wednesday to protest about expansion plans at Heathrow.

The three men and two women from the Plane Stupid group were arrested and later released on bail until April.

The activists had launched their protest on the same day that the government's consultation into the Heathrow expansion plans ended.

Earlier this week, four Greenpeace activists breached security at Heathrow and climbed on top of a Boeing 777 jet in a similar protest. They were also later arrested.
