Inflatable 'Sculptor' Facing Death Charges
The sculptor who created a giant inflatable artwork, which flipped over in a freak gust of wind and killed two women, has been charged with manslaughter.
Maurice Agis, 76, from Bow in east London, was charged with gross negligence manslaughter and also faces a charge under health and safety laws.
Liverpool-based promotions company Brouhaha International Ltd and Chester-le-Street District Council have also been charged with breaching the Health and Safety at Work Act, in connection with the incident.
Tony Galloway, the Council's Director of Development Services, also faces a charge on a separate breach of the act.
All are due to appear before Peterlee Magistrates' Court on February 26.
Elizabeth Collings, 68, from Seaham and 38-year-old Claire Furmedge from Chester-le-Street died when the multi-coloured Dreamspace sculpture overturned at the Riverside Park at Chester-le-Street in Co- Durham on July 23 2006. Thirteen people were also injured in the incident.

A 25-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the "terrorist-realted" murder of an 82-year-old Muslim in Birmingham in April. Ukranian Pavlo Lapshyn is also facing charges in connection with three explosions near mosques in Walsall, Wolverhampton and Tipton.

Brothers to face retrial over Damilola death
Two teenage brothers charged in connection with the death of schoolboy Damilola Taylor will face a retrial on manslaughter charges. The brothers, aged 17 and 18, were cleared of murder and assault with intent to rob at the Old Bailey on Tuesday. However, the jury failed to reach a verdict on manslaughter charges.

Brothers acquitted of Damilola murder
Two brothers have been acquitted of the murder of schoolboy Damilola Taylor. The two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, were also cleared of assault with intent to rob. However, the jury was discharged after failing to reach a verdict on manslaughter charges.
