Body Of Missing London Teen Found In Thames
The body of a teenage boy who disappeared while on a night out on Christmas Eve has been found in the River Thames.
Joshua Beasley, 17, from Lee, southeast London, had not been seen since December 24, when he was spotted at an ice rink in the grounds of Greenwich's Old Royal Navy college around 5:15pm, after earlier meeting friends in Wetherspoon's pub in Creek Road.
His body was spotted in the river near River Road in Barking by a passing bargeman on Monday.
A post-mortem confirmed that the cause of death was drowning. Police said that they were keeping an open mind about the case, saying that although there were no obvious signs of foul play, they still do not know how Joshua went into the river.
In a statement, Joshua's mother Ruth Harrison said: "Joshua's dad Paul and I have been so grateful for all the support we have received.
"We thank everyone for their help - our families, our friends and Joshua's friends - in trying to locate Joshua. We are still desperate to find out how he came to go into the river."
