PM Meets Beckham
The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown is to visit David Beckham's football academy.
He is said to be interested in seeing how it is working with potential future stars and helping with community relations.
Mr Brown's spokesman said: "The Prime Minister thinks football can play a strong role for many young people, particularly in poorer communities, to help community integration."
Beckham visited No 10 earlier this week and spoke for an hour with the Prime Minister.
It is thought Beckham is keen to help with England's bid to host the 2018 World Cup, having helped to secure London's 2012 Olympic win.
The former England captain will reportedly play an ambassadorial "supporting role" to Prince William, who will be the diplomatic leader.
Speaking about his meeting with the Prime Minister, Beckham said: "He's interested in sports and his football, he is very interested in doing a lot for my academy and also getting involved in schools around the country as well."
The David Beckham Academy is based in Greenwich, London and aims to offer training programmes to boys and girls aged eight to 15 who show footballing ability.
