Two In Court Over Teenager's Murder

Two teenager boys have appeared in court charged with the murder of another schoolboy in Essex last week.

Jack Large, 14, was stabbed in the head and back near his home in Grange Hill on Friday.

He underwent surgery and was placed on a life support machine, but died on Sunday, with his parents by his bedside.

His mother, Julie Maddison, 44, revealed that Jack had been involved in a school "anti-knife campaign" shortly before he died and had warned other pupils about the dangers of carrying knives.

The two boys, aged 13 and 14 and both from Chigwell, were arrested on Saturday. They appeared before Witham Youth Court on Tuesday and were remanded in custody to appear before Harlow Youth Court on December 7.
