Arrests Follow Soccer Corruption Probe
Major name football clubs continue to be at the centre of police investigations into the multi-million pound soccer business.
In the latest development, four men have been arrested by City of London police officers in connection with alleged corruption in football.
The men - aged 69, 55, 48 and 30 - were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.
The arrests are believed to be part of the force's ongoing investigation into corruption within the game, a police spokeswoman said.
Already this year, in July, officers raided Newcastle United, Portsmouth and Rangers football clubs as part of the inquiry.
Three new searches are underway today at locations around the country and five others have recently been concluded.
In a separate investigation into football corruption, former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lord Stevens has cast doubt on 17 transfer deals involving five clubs.
However, City of London Police officers have distanced their investigation from Lord Stevens' inquiry - indicating this is a different line of enquiry.

Football Corruption Raid 'Unlawful', High Court Rules
The High Court has ruled that a police raid on a football manager's home was "unlawful". Harry Redknapp and his wife have been awarded £1,000 damages for the incident, which will be paid by the City of London Police. The police have also been ordered to pay 25% of the couple's legal costs.

Football clubs raided in corruption probe
Three football clubs have been raided by police as part of an investigation into alleged corruption in the game. The clubs involved have not yet been officially named, although according to reports, Newcastle United's ground, St James' Park, was one of the places raided.

Police investigate alleged football corruption
Newcastle United, Rangers FC and Portsmouth FC have all been raided in a police investigation into alleged corruption in football. The raids, which took place on Monday morning between 7:30am and 9:00am, involved searches at the three club premises and the homes of two individuals who have not been named.
