Reward Offered In Shropshire Unsolved Murder Case

Police investigating the mysterious death of Trevor Bradley in Shropshire 13 years ago have offered a £10,000 reward for information as they continue to investigate the case.

Mr Bradley, 54, was found in his burnt-out car in a field close to the village of Melverley in northwest Shropshire on April 27, 1994.

Mr Bradley lived in Ludlow and had strong connections with Shrewsbury, particularly in the Monkmoor area. He was also well known in Leominster where he regularly visited a bingo hall.

Detective Inspector Andy Parsons, who is leading the cold case review, said: "We are currently working on the strong possibility that there was more than one person involved in the death and that they were well known to Mr Bradley. It is also likely that they had a very good knowledge of the rural area around Melverley. We can't rule out the possibility that his death resulted from a confrontation which went too far and that those concerned panicked to dispose of any evidence which might connect them to the incident.

"From information received during the recent appeal we are particularly keen to trace the occupants of two vehicles seen travelling together at speed along a lane that leads from the old A5 to Pentre, near to the village of Wilcott. The sighting occurred in the early evening and was believed to be on Tuesday April 26, the day before Mr Bradley's body was discovered. The lead vehicle was white and contained several occupants and the following vehicle was red. The red vehicle was seen sometime later returning towards Shrewsbury alone, but now also with several occupants.

"We are also keen to trace the occupants of a red car/van seen with two occupants driving slowly around the Crosslanes area on the day that Mr Bradley's body was discovered."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on: 01952 216444 or Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.
